About The Role:
This role helps keep Davidson a place where customers feel welcomed, supported, and at home. The Clerk provides knowledgeable and friendly service across two key parts of our business: the Liquor Store and the Home & Building Supply (HABS) floor. This includes ensuring products are always available and easy to find, keeping the store clean and inviting, and working safely and within Saskatchewan liquor regulations.
Team members in this role are expected to take ownership for the store experience; seeing what needs to be done and taking action without waiting to be asked. Our customers rely on us, and teamwork keeps us delivering on that promise every day.
What You Will Be Doing:
Responsible to provide information, assistance, and exceptional customer service to all Customer Experience
• Welcome customers, offer support, and confidently guide them to what they need in both liquor and hardware categories.
• Build product knowledge (cuts of lumber, common hardware needs, wine styles, local picks, etc.).
• Manage escalated or denied service situations respectfully and professionally.
• Represent Co-op values through service that builds long-term member relationships.
Stocking, Facing & Store Standards
• Keep shelves full; product from the back must be moved out throughout the full day, not just at open.
• Face and tidy the liquor and hardware aisles several times daily so the store always looks guest-ready.
• Maintain accurate signage, pricing, and promotional displays.
• Treat the hardware floor as an extension of liquor responsibilities
Receiving & Inventory
• Support receiving by checking, sorting, and organizing new product to get it on the floor quickly.
• Pull empty, damaged, or outdated items immediately; rotate stock using FIFO standards.
• Communicate stock shortages and overstock concerns proactively.
Cleanliness, Safety & Housekeeping
• Maintain safe and clean washrooms, aisles, counters, and receiving areas.
• Remove garbage and cardboard daily; not “someone else’s job.”
• Support safe use and upkeep of store equipment and tools.
Cash Handling & Compliance
• Operate point-of-sale systems accurately and complete cash duties when assigned.
• Follow all Saskatchewan liquor regulations, including age verification and refusal of service.
What You Will Need
For this position, you will need to be 19 years or older to sell alcohol
Customer service or retail experience an asset; especially liquor, DIY, hardware, or lumber
Must successfully complete provincially required training/certification relating to the responsible service and/or sale of alcohol (Serve it Right)- we will provide you with the course to complete beforehand.
Must be capable of lifting up to 25kg.
