BC Place is seeking two part-time, team-focused Event Operations Managers to help keep events running seamlessly from move-in to move-out throughout the FIFA World Cup 2026.
In this role, you’ll be the on-the-ground problem solver, working closely with department leads and making timely decisions that keep each event on track. You’ll be a key contributor in delivering smooth, standout experiences for clients, show managers, suppliers, and guests.
These temporary, part-time roles are expected to conclude on September 30, 2026.
Hours: Hours will vary week to week.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Provide exceptional customer service to clients, show managers, suppliers, guests and staff during the World Cup;
Supervise and brief technical and event staff during move-in/out and event shifts to ensure flawless FIFA event execution;
Complete shift log reports and handover documents as required;
Provide supervisory support to event staff;
Ensure onsite safe work practices for BCP staff, show management, exhibitors and contractors;
Participate in the training and management of event staff;
Participate in department strategic planning,
Attendance at safety training and educational courses;
Work with Event Managers and our clients to ensure delivery of service excellence is consistent and timely;
Act as an Event Manager as required;
Assist and support the broader BC Place Event Services Team;
Other related duties as required.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
Relevant post-secondary degree or diploma;
3 to 5 years of experience in a supervisory role, in event operations;
Proficient in use of Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel, Momentus (Event Business Management System), and ABI (scheduling programming);
Knowledge of WCB regulations;
Knowledge of event technical services, food & beverage, ticketing, etc,;
High level of analytical and interpersonal skills, including strong written and verbal communication;
Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively in a time-sensitive environment;
Proven ability to work with a diverse team;
Proven ability to work well under pressure;
Experience in a unionized environment an asset;
Valid BC Driver’s License;
The hourly rate for this position is $34.35.
Offers will be in line with PavCo’s internal pay equity and qualified candidate’s experience and education.
You will earn 8% vacation pay on your earnings and will be paid out on each bi-weekly pay.
