Role Overview
As a key member of the operations team, the Facilities Engineer plays a critical role in facilitating the integration of generating stations’ maintenance and capital asset management processes to ensure Enfinite is making the right investments at the right time for long-term reliability of Enfinite’s facilities. This role serves as the Operations field representative for maintenance and capital work identification and planning, as well as engineering support for existing/new facilities. Positive leadership, relevant work experience, and technical knowledge are requirements for this position.
Core Responsibilities
Maintenance and Operational Support:
Collaborate with field operations teams to make asset risk and value-based decisions in both real-time and near-real-time environments.
Develop, assess, and prioritize scope, cost estimates, and risk assessments for maintenance projects, ensuring compliance with financial guidelines and operational best practices and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standards.
Lead the integration and coordination of maintenance activities and capital investments, promoting efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Initiate & Manage select critical maintenance projects.
Facilitate the maintenance and operations managed capital planning processes, reporting, and participating in work prioritization to optimize investments and operational success.
Manage primary operations of Whitecourt Assets.
Manage relationship with SCADA Vendor. Facilitate continuous improvement projects on SCADA system to support asset performance and reporting.
Engineering and Asset Optimization:
Create and review documentation to define problems, opportunities, and risks, recommending appropriate actions and strategies.
Contribute to the technical due diligence for existing and potential assets, analyzing operational data and performance metrics to improve asset value and reliability.
Engage in the lifecycle cost analysis and technical evaluations to support continuous improvement and sustainability initiatives.
Develop new asset capabilities to assist in commercializing asset technology as required.
Monitor & evaluate asset condition monitoring data. Make inferences from data about asset condition.
Leadership and Development:
Build and maintain trusted relationships across multiple levels of the organization, engaging and motivating teams to achieve operational goals.
Actively participate in Enfinite’s safety culture, leading by example and supporting operations in hazard identification and mitigation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with the Finance, Development, & Projects teams with auditing Operations data used in various forms of asset files and financial models for accuracy and asset valuations. Review contracts, ensure proper expense tracking and cost allocations.
Provide ad hoc operations data to support the Finance and Development teams with budgeting, forecasting, or project review.
Travel:
Up to 40% requirement to be on site but will vary based on operational and project needs, as well as flexibility for ideal candidate’s preference.

Qualifications and Experience
A bachelor’s degree in engineering, with an emphasis on Facilities or Mechanical Engineering considered an asset. Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered.
3-5 years working engineering experience.
Experience in the power generation or utility industries is considered an asset.
SCADA Engineering experience is considered an asset.
Highly self-motivated with a proactive “can-learn, can-do” attitude towards achieving objectives.
Strong project management skills and experience, with a proven ability to manage maintenance schedules and budgets effectively.
Familiarity with a variety of power generation technologies, including utility-scale energy storage, renewable energy systems, and generator combinations are considered an asset.
Additional Requirements and Information
Field travel will be required.
A valid Class 5 driver’s license is essential for this role.
Travel will primarily involve addressing operational priorities during ongoing operations and providing support during the construction and commissioning phases of new projects.
