JOB SUMMARY:
The primary role of the Accounting Technician is to process payments in a timely manner and control expenses by receiving, processing, verifying and reconciling invoices. They may also be responsible for payroll, bank reconciliations, recording journal entries, and assisting with month-end and year-end closing practices. The Accounting Technician is responsible for full-cycle accounting for some of the smaller companies that are part of the Kasko Group.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enter invoices in accounting system for payments ensuring correct approval, coding, and matching.
Able to work in a 90% paperless environment, able to work smoothly through Adobe, Excel, and navigate easily through our online filing system.
Respond to vendors and customers regarding invoicing, payment inquiries and discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
Record general journal entries as directed by the CFO.
Process payroll for employees and submit to CFO for approval.
Review all invoices and send them to appropriate manager for signature approval and scan and save to online filing.
Check accuracy of employee reimbursement expenses and enter.
Provide accurate data to Chief Financial Officer for monthly, quarterly and yearly reports.
Complete other duties as assigned.
KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
The Accounting Technician will have regular daily communication with the Chief Financial Officer, Accounting Technicians, General Manager, and other office staff. The Accounting Technician has regular communication with vendors and customers regarding invoices, payments, etc.
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Bookkeeping or Accounting related experience is required.
QuickBooks experience is an asset.
Diploma in office administration is an asset.
1+ years of working in the agriculture industry is an asset.
TRAINING:
On-the-job training will be provided, as needed.
Additional training may also be provided, as needed.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The Accounting Technician generally works 5 days per week and is rarely required to work additional days. Preferred minimum work week would be Monday to Friday 8:30am-2:30pm (slight variance in time of day could be arranged). Full-time hours are available as well and can be discussed during interview.
The Accounting Technician spends most of their time in an office setting. Business/professional casual dress required.
BENEFITS:
Full-time, permanent incumbents of this position are eligible for company benefits programs including health, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance benefits, after three months of employment. Company paid pension plan benefits are available after one year of employment. Additional benefits such as Service Awards may also be awarded.
REMUNERATION:
Remuneration for this position is based on experience and quality of work. Wage ranges between $26 and $32 per hour, based on experience. Incumbents of this position accrue 4% vacation.
