Unposting Date: 2025-12-15 11:59 PM Digital Video Associate Producer (English Services) (On-Site) Your role: CBC British Columbia is looking for an associate producer to play a key role in programming video that airs on streaming and on-demand platforms, notably the CBC BC FAST channel, as well as YouTube, TikTok and O&O digital video spaces. This role is centered on the audience experience and the public service of curating, packaging and distributing news to reach new and existing viewers. You have strong editorial judgement, critical thinking skills, and the creativity that allows you to source, assess, and present news video across a roster of platforms and playlists, while also looking for ways to innovate in line with evolving audience behaviour. You work collaboratively with assignment producers to enrich visual storytelling while also taking initiative to develop effective workflows and compelling programing. You embrace CBC News priorities to meet the audience where they are through content distribution and responsive live coverage for breaking and developing news. You’re an effective communicator and problem solver who is unfazed by technical challenges, competing deadlines, and changing media landscapes. You seek to understand what audiences want, when they want it, and how the CBC can best reach them. Reporting to the Executive Producer of News and Digital Video, you will have an important role in video programming, responsive live coverage, and connecting CBC News content with audiences. This is a full time, in person position based in Vancouver B.C. Your profile: University degree or equivalent. Minimum two years recent experience in a multi-media news environment. Strong journalistic and communication skills. Proven understanding of and curiosity about digital video platforms and audience behaviour. Support and facilitate responsive live coverage of breaking or developing stories. Familiarity with editing software. Ability to navigate internal media management systems to source and curate video playlists for FAST and other digital video platforms. Experience using and analyzing digital video platforms like YouTube and TikTok. Ability to create relevant, engaging and timely playlists of short-form video that fit channel and platform goals for various platforms. Ability to take direction and work closely with assignment producers to identify, adapt and distribute compelling forms of video storytelling. Ability to work independently to meet competing deadlines. Ability to engage with large volumes of fast-moving information and ensure clear communication. Knowledge of CBC News policies for user-generated content and internal media management.
