The InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown Hotel is located in the Wilshire Grand building, standing 73 stories tall in the core of Downtown’s historic, entertainment, financial, arts, and sports districts. Ideally placed at the heart of the revitalized, energy-charged urban center of the United States’ second-largest city, the hotel provides first-class hospitality that seamlessly intertwines with the fabric of the burgeoning Downtown area.
Your Day to Day
Great restaurant memories come from many places. The sights, sounds, scents and, importantly, service. As a Back server, you’ll assist servers in providing fast and courteous service of food and beverage to guests by clearing and setting tables and performing miscellaneous tasks.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform set-up and closing side work assignments such as make coffee, fold napkins,
Stock service station or pantry with napkins, placemats, condiments, etc. May be required to transport linens to and from laundry.
May routinely fill water glasses, serve non-alcoholic beverages, and assist servers by delivering items to guest tables.
Clear, clean, and set tables according to established service standards.
Clean and/or wipe down tables, chairs, walls, windows, mirror and floors of restaurant.
Separate dirty chinaware, glassware, silverware and deliver to kitchen for cleaning.
Perform other duties as assigned
What We Need from You
Basic reading, writing and math skills.
This job requires ability to perform the following:
Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds
Moving about the restaurant
Handling food, objects; bus tray/tub, plates, glasses, utensils, etc.
Bending, stooping, kneeling
Other:
Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with guests, wait staff, cooks, and supervisor
Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency
Reading and writing abilities are utilized often to answer guest’s questions regarding the menu
Basic math skills are used when performing room service duties
May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays
What We Offer
The hourly pay range for this role is $19.25 to $21.25. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Los Angeles, California. This is the lowest to highest pay scale we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
