Starting Salary Range: $55,000 - $59,000 annually. This is the starting base range for this role and may vary based on internal equity, and a candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Over and above the base salary and the benefits highlighted above, this position is also eligible for an incentive bonus of up to 10% of the annual salary.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Digital Marketing, the Specialist, Digital Marketing & Promotions will use data-driven thinking and a targeted, audience-centric approach in the execution of Tourism Whistler’s paid marketing and data acquisition initiatives. The Specialist will be responsible for working within a variety of digital platforms to execute paid search, social, display and video advertising. They will assist in optimizing campaigns on a real-time basis as needed and provide support with a wide variety of campaign analytics and reporting. This role is also responsible for leading the execution of all of Tourism Whistler’s promotion and contesting initiatives to support data capture that drives the growth of Tourism Whistler’s first-party data assets, enabling more personalized, insight-driven marketing.
Key Responsibilities
Act as a Tourism Whistler ambassador, living our purpose and vision with passion & energy, achievement, and respect
Execute Google Ads paid search initiatives, working with the Reservation Sales team to ensure paid search campaigns to support overall sales goals
Execute select Facebook paid social campaigns in support of Tourism Whistler marketing objectives and programs
Oversee Tourism Whistler’s Dynamic Creative platform, ensuring the right messages hit the right audiences at the right time
Responsible for implementing campaign tracking and measuring success of advertising programs, using Google Analytics as a primary tool, producing campaign reports as needed
Manage and implement pixel requests and keep Tourism Whistler Google Tag Manager organized
Responsible for understanding Tourism Whistler’s current first-party data landscape, systems, and platforms and how they can be leveraged to achieve marketing objectives
Work with Tourism Whistler partners to access and leverage second-party data
Develop promotions and data capture strategy; oversee the execution of all Tourism Whistler promotions and contesting initiatives, and work with other internal departments to maximize data capture opportunities
Lead execution of promotional programs, and support overall data capture strategy:
Plan and execute seasonal signature contests to drive email acquisition
Work with third-party partners to create promotions that are aligned with the Whistler brand and drive data capture
Coordinate production of all online and offline contesting material
Act as the key contact for member outreach for contests and promotions
Work with the Manager, Digital Marketing to manage and forecast the promotions, paid search, and paid social budgets
Support the Data Marketing & Creative Services team as required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Passion and knowledge of Whistler, mountain resorts, and the tourism industry
Post-secondary education in marketing or a related discipline
Minimum of three years' experience in marketing, promotions, or other related role
Experience with Google Ads, Google Analytics and familiarity with broader Google Marketing Platform an asset
Experience executing dynamic creative tools an asset
Proficient with Excel, Sheets, or related tools for ad-hoc analysis assembly
Innovative and creative, with a logical and methodical approach to problem solving
Exceptionally high level of attention to detail
Ability to perform well in a fast-paced, changing environment
Most importantly, you should “love” data and enjoy working within marketing platform tools
