THE ROLE:
We are a vertically integrated, growing fabricator within the GTA founded in 1947. We are looking for a Warehouse Associate who will be responsible for receiving incoming material, preparing and shipping products as scheduled, certifying incoming shipments and receiving materials, moving materials between areas of the production departments and effectively perform their duties in accordance with the established procedures and follow all safety protocols and company policies.
JOB DESCRIPTION (FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES)
Unload incoming shipments, unpack, label and route goods to appropriate areas.
Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents; record and report discrepancies and/or damages to the product prior to signing off receiving documents.
Responsible for placing finished products in case/customer stock areas.
Ensure all receiving documents are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Responsible for processing requests by picking and filling orders from stock, packing/palletizing, printing and affixing shipping labels.
Prioritize outbound shipments based on due date, completion and customer urgency.
Safely load outgoing materials into shipping containers and secure them to avoid damages in transit.
Perform quality checks on the condition of goods being shipped for both incoming and outgoing items prior to signing paperwork.
Knowledge of weight and load restrictions based on truck or container.
Transfer raw materials and supplies according to production requirements from stock to production floor and vice versa, by safely performing physical tasks such as lifting, carrying and stacking by hand or safely using material handling equipment.
At the start, during & end of shift, ensure all garbage bins are empty and in proper location.
Organize waterjet cutting area & assembly material as per next day's requirements given by supervisors.
Remove scrap foam bales and cardboard from assembly area to the garbage bin/assigned trailer.
Ensure that all paperwork and transactions are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Effective and well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
At least 1 year experience operating a Forklift.
Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy, and attention to detail.
Excellent organizational skills and ability prioritize within tight deadlines.
Knowledge of safe work practices as they relate to warehouse operations and equipment.
Operate all equipment in a safe and effective manner. Comply with applicable legislation including safe operation and carriage of goods.
Knowledge of computerized shipping/receiving and inventory control systems.
Participate in various projects assigned by supervisor, for example; physical inventory counts, special customer requirements, etc.
Must have working knowledge of all Microsoft office particularly excel, word and outlook.
Team player to interface and service inter-departmental and customer needs.
Must be able to lift over 50lbs.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
You must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
Must have a valid Forklift license (training and recertification will be provided).
Knowledge of work place safety policies and safe lifting and handling procedures.
