POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under the direction of the Director of Finance, this role is responsible for all business divisions forecasting and will provide analysis in decision-making matters both operationally and strategically. The Controller will also direct activities of product manufacturing analysis, inventory valuation, and analyze various costs to ensure integrity, project accounting and working in collaboration with the costing department.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inventory Management
Oversee cycle count monitoring and annual physical count oversight for all three (3) business divisions.
Reconcile inventory balances and resolve variances, ensuring proper accounting treatment through the manufacturing process.
- Costing and Analysis
Conduct gross margin, BOM, and costing analysis, monitoring, and recommendations.
Perform periodic evaluations of labor and overhead rates.
Analyze and report on raw materials PPV and cost set-up.
Project reconciliation for service and installations.
- Financial Reporting
Provide management with reports comparing areas affecting pricing and profitability of products.
Prepare transfer pricing documentation quarterly/annually for management review.
- Planning and Budgeting
Assist in the annual planning process for variable and fixed costs as well as department expense budgets.
Record cost information and submit ideas on controlling cost expenditures.
- Cost Control
Monitor and control costs, identifying areas of improvement.
Work with staff to understand cost variances and work towards driving total costs down.
- Operational Support
Provide manufacturing with financial information and advice to improve plant performance.
- Month-End Coordination
Coordinate month-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
Manage banking activities, including reconciliations and cash flow monitoring.
Oversee credit card management, including expense tracking and reporting.
- Project Assistance
Oversee credit card management, including expense tracking and reporting.
Assist in the management of key company projects.
Partner with operations to analyze, track, and report cost-saving initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree and/or 5+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
5+ years of plant accounting experience, with an expertise in costing, inventory, planning and budgeting.
Experience in industrial manufacturing and construction and services.
Experience with intercompany transactions.
Advanced working knowledge of QuickBooks, ERP systems and Excel formulations.
This position requires strong collaboration, and the ability to partner with multiple business leaders within the organization.
