The Maintenance Purchaser is responsible for procuring parts, materials, equipment, and services needed to support aircraft maintenance operations while ensuring cost-efficiency, timely delivery, and compliance with regulatory and company standards. This role requires collaboration with multiple teams, management of supplier relationships, and careful attention to documentation and certifications.
Key Responsibilities
Purchase parts, materials, equipment, and services from established suppliers or explore potential new vendors;
Support the team in evaluating supplier options;
Initiate the approval process for new suppliers as needed;
Create and adjust purchase orders;
Select the appropriate supplier to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery;
Maintain records of purchase orders and certifications;
File invoices for accounting purposes;
Support the return of parts to suppliers (core return process);
Establish and maintain strong commercial and contractual relationships with suppliers;
Identify, analyze, and implement cost-saving opportunities;
Track each request closely to minimize delays;
Collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams (maintenance, warehouse, and finance);
Update product datasheets in the database as needed;
Support warehouse activities and the annual inventory count;
Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures by using only approved equipment and materials provided by the company.
College diploma or equivalent;
Experience in procurement or purchasing;
Certificate in Aviation Supply Management (an asset);
Experience or knowledge of the Corridor (an asset);
Strong knowledge of MS Office suite;
Ability to read and understand technical certification of components (8130-1, Form 1, Certificate of Conformity);
Canadian citizen or permanent resident;
Eligible for Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC);
Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
