Join a motivated and high-performance team responsible for analysis and due diligence of acquisition targets in the financial services industry. Apply combination of quantitative and qualitative analytical skills as well as interpersonal skills to lead diligence projects spanning a broad range of areas and target types. Ensure that diligence effort appropriately balances the needs of stakeholders (risk management, financial analysis, and business onboarding) with vendor experience and process pace. The Director, Analysis & Diligence, Corporate Development will: Gain a holistic understanding of the business to appropriately scope the diligence effort associated with a given transaction, maximize the relevance of analyses and accuracy of financial projections, and identify material and germane risks to transaction value. Conduct financial analyses, including determining economics of the target business on a standalone basis and preparing a financial forecast for the target as part of People Corporation. Filter for material and relevant risks, work with relevant stakeholders and providers to identify a path to solution. Day-to-day ownership of assigned diligence projects, including ensuring timely and efficient progress of the diligence project by leveraging and coordinating with relevant stakeholders as well as internal and external resources. Oversee confirmatory diligence workstreams such as IT, compliance, tax. Support end-to-end transaction success through knowledge transfer to relevant stakeholders. To be successful as a Director, Analysis & Diligence, Corporate Development with People Corporation, you will need: 8+ years of professional experience in accounting, finance, or investment fields. Track record of successful project leadership or workstream ownership. Command of applicable finance and accounting concepts such as free cash flow/EBITDA, one-time v. recurring items, net working capital, and similar. Post-graduate professional education such as CPA, CBV, CFA, MBA, P.Eng., or comparable designations or experience. Proficiency with MS Office with strong Excel capabilities. Ability to advance multiple workstreams under tight timelines while maintaining quality of work product. Ability to coalesce information of various types, formats, sources, etc., to arrive at a holistic and granular understanding of the target business. Ability to build on the granular understanding to ‘zoom out’ and focus on the most relevant risks and challenges, finding efficient and practical mitigations and solutions to same. Ability to balance following a structured process to ensure consistency while exercising informed professional judgement to deviate from the standard process where appropriate to meet the core purpose. Willingness to work in excess of standard working hours to accomplish goals and meet timelines. Attention to detail and appreciation of data-informed, commercially-nuanced analysis. Ability to communicate effectively both in written and verbal form, tailor communication to audience.
