Reporting to the Manager, Technology Enablement, the Systems Consultant will contribute to enhancing the overall user experience and ensuring technology solutions align with organizational needs and have a strong focus on service excellence. Key responsibilities include collaborating with vendors and internal teams to design and implement new technology solutions that meet evolving business requirements. The role also provides Tier 2 support for end-user computing environments, resolving complex technical issues and helping deliver reliable, efficient IT services. Responsibilities Include: Lead the ongoing implementation, management, enhancement, and support of the full Microsoft 365 stack, including, SharePoint Online and Teams, as well as Azure AD, Exchange Online Manage Azure Virtual Desktop environments, including image management, scaling and user access. Provide installation, configuration, and testing of service packs, hotfixes, and new software releases for Windows server and Windows client operating systems. Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts and automation workflows to streamline system administration tasks. Manage and support endpoint management platforms (Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager and Intune) to capture hardware and software inventory, deploy applications, enforce compliance policies, and configure devices across both on-premises and cloud environments. Conduct performance monitoring, optimization, and security hardening of cloud and on-prem services and recommend cost-effective solutions. Troubleshoot and isolate system issues across servers, clients, software, and network infrastructure. Support cross-functional IT projects, contributing technical expertise in planning, deployment, testing, and post-implementation support Assist in developing and maintaining technical and security policies and procedures for the department and hospital. Monitor and respond to security events in accordance with established protocols and procedures. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Provide training and technical guidance to IT staff and end users to promote best practices and efficient use of technology What you bring to the role: 10+ years of experience in system administration, with a strong focus on enterprise productivity and virtualization platforms A degree in a related IT field is preferred. Expertise in Microsoft 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop, including administration, configuration, and optimization. Microsoft 365 administrator required, Administrator expert or higher preferred Experience in hospital IT environments and familiarity with MEDITECH systems is a significant asset. ITIL v3 Foundation Certification is an asset. Demonstrated experience in gathering and analyzing user feedback to inform service improvements and drive continuous enhancement of IT offerings. A strong customer service focus and the ability to work independently and professionally managing multiple projects Experience with change management and user adoption initiatives. Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
