ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Inside Sales Representative- Wood Products is responsible for buying and selling lumber, OSB, wood panels, and other selected product categories. The Commodity Trader will also be responsible for net sales, margin, and volume targets.
The Inside Sales Representative- Wood Products drives excellent customer service and lays the groundwork for a successful customer relationship by ensuring the ordering process, from start to finish, is accurate, consistent, and timely.
The Inside Sales Representative- Wood Products engages in ongoing dialogue with customers to assess current and projected needs and responds to daily fluctuations in price and market conditions.
ABOUT YOU
You are comfortable conducting proactive outbound sales calls to customers to determine their needs and offer immediate quotes. You showcase your ability to communicate effectively with contacts at all levels through your excellent customer service skills on the phone and via email.
Your intuitive nature enables you to anticipate, understand, and successfully navigate fluctuating market conditions. You can develop and share an opinion on market conditions based on information from customers and suppliers and through conversations with other traders, the National OSB and Panel Manager, and the National Lumber Procurement Manager.

SKILLS YOU NEED TO HAVE
Knowledge of commodity lumber products in a wholesale, distribution or retail environment is an asset.
Very comfortable with MS Office and have the ability to quickly learn other applications.
Aptitude for numerical calculations.
Excellent English communication skills that display professionalism, good business acumen, and strong business ethics.
Must be a highly motivated, engaged, and self-starting individual.
EDUCATION
High school diploma is a minimum requirement.
Post-secondary education in Business is preferred.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The typical hiring range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 annually. The base pay offered is based on geographical location and may vary depending on the applicant’s job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. Similar positions located in other geographical locations may not necessarily receive the same salary range. The compensation information is an estimate and provided to meet with applicable provincial Pay Transparency legislation.
