Position Summary:
As the Food Safety Manager, you will champion compliance and strategy for all factory food safety policies, procedures and standards established by the company and federal, state, and local regulatory agencies. In this critical leadership role, you will engage, empower, and supervise the Food Safety Department and ensure all food safety standards are met or exceeded. You will lead team that provides support to Plant Operations that will help facilitate continuous cost reduction and process improvement efforts using data analysis, problem-solving tools and techniques, and effective leadership at all levels.
You will:
Manage strategic planning and daily operation of the factory Food Safety Department including coaching and mentorship of department members.
Lead factory audit programs to verify adherence to certification standards and regulatory requirements.
Review, maintain, and enhance factory resources to support personnel training and competency development, food safety, and quality management systems.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to set aligned standards and provide coaching around sanitation practices.
Support IPM (Integrated Pest Management) program management.
Oversee the Food Safety (HACCP) Plan, thermal processing, risk assessments, and GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices).
Manage adherence to ISO requirements and continually monitor external standards to inform internal strategy.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in food science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or related scientific discipline.
5+ years’ Food Safety experience in manufacturing, production, military, or related environment.
2+ years’ people leadership experience in manufacturing, production, military, or related environment.
