In this role, you'll connect with mission-driven clients who are doing important work in independent journalism. By reaching out to marketing qualified leads (MQLs) and prospecting your own leads through events and other channels, you'll have the opportunity to develop meaningful relationships and convert potential clients into partners. Your efforts in generating initial meetings and demos will play a crucial role in amplifying their impactful work.
Our sales process is currently led by you and our Director of Revenue Operations, with our CEO as the final stage. You will be responsible for setting up meetings, providing logistical support to ensure our team is fully prepared, taking notes, and managing effective follow-ups. Your role is to increase our CEO’s effectiveness in closing calls. We expect you will grow into an effective account executive, able to generate and close business independently.
Your success will initially be measured by the number of meetings you secure with well-prepared prospects, and your contributions to finding ways to systematize and scale revenue generation.
We’re more than a “Tech Vendor” to our clients, we’re “Thought Partners” and your role allows you to contribute directly to the growth and success of our clients and Indiegraf as a whole.
We are hoping to begin interviews by December, 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
Outreach Efforts: Reach out to potential clients through email, phone, and social media to discover and qualify new business opportunities. Personalize your research and identify key decision-makers, allowing you to tailor your outreach and build genuine connections.
Lead Nurturing and Support: Manage and nurture inbound leads (MQLs) with timely and thoughtful follow-ups to ensure they receive the attention they deserve. Hold confident and credible conversations with local news leaders about their strategy and how Indiegraf can help get them there.
Pipeline Tracking: Keep a close eye on all sales activities and pipeline progress in our CRM (Hubspot), mining data for insights, ensuring accurate and detailed records and prioritizing documentation.
Industry Representation: Represent Indiegraf at industry events, helping to strengthen our relationships as we move "up market" and focus on building connections.
Coordination and Support: Schedule discovery calls, demos, and meetings for our CEO with qualified prospects, ensuring everything runs smoothly. Assist the CEO during the sales process, and manage follow-ups to keep things on track.
Engaging Proposals, Presentations and Demos: Deliver initial product presentations and value proposition overviews to prospective clients, showcasing how our solutions can benefit them. Participate in and occasionally lead product demos to highlight our core features and use cases, helping prospects see the value we offer. Build comprehensive proposals that address the complexities of customer pricing and needs.
Internal impact: Improve the client experience by ensuring a thorough and consistent intake and handover process for new clients. This will make onboarding smoother and provide our Customer Success team with all the information they need to set clients up quickly, enabling them to hit the ground running.
Refinement: Collaborate with our Director of Revenue Operations to refine how we qualify leads and improve our conversion rates. Share your ideas and feedback to help improve our sales playbooks, outreach strategies, and client engagement methods. Work closely with the marketing team to fine-tune our messaging and improve campaign effectiveness based on real customer feedback.
Ongoing Training: Attend regular training sessions to enhance your sales skills, product knowledge, and communication abilities.
