POSITION SUMMARY
As a Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor, you will lead a dynamic manufacturing engineering team, ensuring efficient production, top-quality standards, and innovative solutions that enhance productivity. WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Supervise, mentor, and support a team of manufacturing engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Participate in hiring, training, and evaluating team members to ensure skill development and high performance.
Assign tasks, balance workloads, and ensure deadlines are met while driving efficiency in manufacturing engineering operations.
Ensure all manufacturing processes, product designs, and projects prioritize safety, quality, and efficiency.
Ensure contract reviews are conducted prior to contract start to ensure production preparedness (PDP process).
Develop, evaluate, and approve Standard Work Instructions, quality manuals, and other key documentation.
Work closely with design, production, quality, and tooling teams to optimize product manufacturability, improve processes, and drive new product launches.
Ensure that manufacturing engineering is effectively participating in SWAT team meetings, to resolve production challenges and provide hands-on technical troubleshooting as needed.
Assist with process planning, prototyping, routing updates, and technical guidance to ensure seamless production flow.
Track key department metrics, manage labor requirements, and drive improvements in production efficiency.
Identify and implement process enhancements, safety improvements, and strategic initiatives.
Align resources, schedules, and priorities to support smooth production operations.
Adapt to evolving business needs and contribute to the company’s success.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
Degree or diploma in Manufacturing Engineering or a related field, or a combination of relevant coursework and hands-on experience.
Minimum of 5 years in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of production processes and continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience leading a team or collaborating effectively in a cross-functional environment.
Lean Manufacturing, APICS certification, or equivalent practical experience is an asset.
Strong working knowledge of MS Excel, Team Center, Oracle EBS, and other manufacturing-related software. Experience with AutoCAD, UniGraphics, Power BI, and Microsoft Office is a plus.
A Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation is considered an asset.
Ability to assess complex challenges, implement data-driven solutions, and drive process efficiencies.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and thrive in a dynamic work environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage with teams, leadership, and cross-functional departments.
