To provide leadership and operational direction for the Trenton site in a manner to obtain safe, efficient, productive, and economical manufacturing operations.
WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
In this position, you will get to:
Drive a continuous improvement culture by involving employees in problem solving and decision making as well as recognizing them for exceptional work.
Provide direction to operations to meet manufacturing schedules and production plans.
Facilitate a synchronous manufacturing operation.
Develop, monitor and maintain adherence to established budgets, both expense and capital.
Develop open lines of communication to continually monitor employee attitudes and concerns, and implement appropriate actions with input from Human Resources.
Recommend and implement changes regarding production capability, tooling, machine replacement and staffing in support of production plans as well as cost-effective procedures, systems, tooling, equipment, etc., to continually improve manufacturing productivity.
Implement Smart Factory/Digital Manufacturing.
Coordinate and direct activities that respond to customer and market needs through contact with marketing and sales departments and district sales offices.
Coordinate the development of the annual plans, focusing on the Value Streams. Participate in development of divisional strategic plan.
Production
Approve the resources necessary for manufacturing operations in order to obtain the highest standards in production, quality, low cost and within the scheduled time, applying in the manufacturing process Lean Manufacturing philosophy, with understanding of Smart Factory process and implementation.
Maintenance
Approve the introduction of new technology to achieve the needs of manufacturing and for all operations related to maintenance of buildings, machinery and equipment, and installation of new machinery and equipment for production.
Quality
Ensure that the Area’s Manager develop and implement quality control programs (ISO) and improvements to the product / service, focusing on quality measures and key indicators to respond to customer requirements.
Materials
Support strategies that Area’s Manager determines to optimize the administration of MRO, MRP, planning, materials and logistics in coordination of sales, and distribution departments.
Finance
Responsible for making decisions based on accounting for all operation and financial statements (scorecard), and consider aspects of tax planning, costs, cash flow, budgets through proper maintenance of internal controls. Assure that Communications Systems operates under the corporate policies.
Customer Service/Programs
Approve strategies required to determinate manufacturing capacities in order to satisfy with customers’ requests. Observes and control customer service statistics with the objective to improve process
Human Resources
Approve resources to develop, implement and manage programs and HR systems, such as Labor Relations, Recruitment and Selection, Training, Communication, Personnel Administration, Pre-Payroll, Benefits, Safety, Medical Department, and the Environment in accordance with legal requirements, local policies and procedures and corporate.
Lean Manufacturing
Oversees the operational process improvements and office alignment with corporate management. Administers the internal home improvements on the ground in order to reduce costs and increase production capacity and customer satisfaction. A good view of End to End thinking is also key.
You have:
Educational Background:
BA or BS degree in Business, Engineering or similar discipline
MBA or other graduate degree in similar discipline strongly preferred, but not required
Experience in the following:
10+ years’ experience in a production environment required.
Advanced knowledge of Lean Methodologies required; Lean Certification required
Demonstrated skills as a thought leader with a combination of analytic rigor, conceptual ability, innovation, creativity, mental flexibility and judgment
Skill in process management, planning and change management
Demonstrated ability to utilize strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface with people at all levels within the organization and outside the organization
Ability to effectively plan, direct and coordinate activates across cross functional teams and departments.
Ability to build and maintain effective work relationships at all levels both internally and externally (customers, suppliers, etc.)
Ability to develop and coach talent
Ability to adapt to rapidly changing business circumstance and have the ability to thrive in a constantly changing business environment.
Much of the work will be in a normal office environment. The ability to clearly and comfortably view, interpret and process information via a computer monitor for extended periods of time during normal working hours is required. Some assignments may require extended periods in another plant/office location.
Approximately 10% of domestic travel with the potential for international travel is required
