Responsibilities
Customer focused QA Engineer responsible for establishing and implementing food safety and quality standards for molded products produced in a high-volume high speed injection molding and blow molding food packaging operation. Ensures compliance with internal, statutory, and regulatory requirements. Essential participant in fostering a positive food safety and quality culture within the organization.
Food Safety Team member responsible for maintaining the facility HACCP Plan. Ensures operations comply with established prerequisite programs (GMPs). Assumes the backup Food Safety Team Leader role when Food Safety Team Leader is unavailable.
Supports injection molding, blow molding (injection stretch and extrusion) and offset printing operations.
Reading and interpreting prints, specifications, and other technical documents.
Manage and program metrology equipment (Hexagon Optiv Classic Measurement System, Keyence Telecentric Measurement System) and the use of various measuring devices.
Creates performance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Participates in developing policies, procedures, and methods to evaluate and improve the quality and safety of products, materials, components, and/or operations. Creates documentation that supports customer product quality and food safety specifications.
Responsible for monitoring and assisting quality inspection and testing operations, identifying gaps and for continual improvement.
Responsible for creating and executing employee training programs for new employees, annual requirements, equipment specific and task specific processes, etc.
Participates in the internal audit program, remains knowledgeable of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards, including but not limited to FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, PRP program requirements, and Interstate Milk Shippers (IMS) standard.
Ability to create and manage the documentation that supports the integrated management system (IMS).
Evaluates suppliers and outside service providers.
Possesses good organizational skills
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science plus ASQ certification (or similar training) in quality management, engineering, six sigma, and/or auditing (quality/food safety).
HACCP training
Internal auditor training certification

Bilingual, prefer English as first language
