Position Title: Intermediate Technology Specialist, Core Systems Developer
Reports To: Senior Technology Manager, Core Systems
Department: IT Individual Wealth
Term: Temporary Full-Time, Twelve (12) Month Contract
Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.
What you will be doing:
Be a part of a team of developers to design and enhance a wide range of solutions using a variety of technologies
Recommend and implement system designs based on long-term IT organization strategy.
Work closely with business and systems analysts, and QA to develop alternative solutions to meet business needs.
Analyze production system problems and recommend solutions
Investigate and solve production problems with minimal guidance.
Research and recommend technologies to the team and management to help keep our tech stack up-to-date
What you will bring:
Willingness and ability to learn new ways of working and different technologies
Proficiency in C# .Net (VB.Net acceptable) with at 2-3 years of relevant experience
Solid knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Transact SQL with at least 2 years of relevant experience
Experience with SOAP and/or RESTful services
High motivation to be a team player and ability to be a strong individual contributor
Effective verbal and written communications, with an ability to effectively convey information, concepts, and ideas to others
Hands on experience using testing frameworks (ie. NUnit, etc.) is an asset
Degree or diploma in Computer Science or a related field
Nice to haves: Azure DevOps, Azure Functions, Azure SQL, Unitrax, ExStream, Active Batch, Ingenium
