The plumber inspects, installs, repairs and replaces pipes, fittings and plumbing fixtures to maintain the heating, water, medical gas and drainage systems of hospital facilities.Functions in accordance with duties defined in the job description as a Plumber. May be assigned to work at any HHS site.
- Current Ontario Plumbers License
- Trade certification in Steam fitting -- with Building Automation Controls preferred
- Demonstrated ability to conduct heavy physical lifting, frequent prolonged standing/walking, pushing/pulling or moving/lifting heavy equipment/supplies
- Demonstrated ability to reach, stoop, bend, kneel, and crouch
- Demonstrated manual dexterity and mobility
- Demonstrated ability to differentiate colours
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to work in an asbestos environment
- Demonstrated ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Demonstrated ability to use the tools and equipment of the trade
- Must be willing to provide own hand tools of the trade
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to work in areas that are cold, host, dusty, dirty, noisy, amongst machinery, at elevated levels and have cramped quarters
