As a MineStar Performance Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of autonomous mining operations. This position focuses on designing, managing, and continuously improving a global talent development program that equips professionals with the knowledge and skills to excel in autonomous haulage systems. You will collaborate with internal teams and external partners—including universities, dealers, and customers—to gather feedback and refine program requirements. Your work ensures that participants are prepared to configure, maintain, and operate Caterpillar’s Command for Hauling system according to the highest standards and best practices. Beyond training, you will act as a subject matter expert (SME), applying advanced methodologies and tools to define, measure, analyze, improve, and control performance for MineStar applications. This includes troubleshooting operational issues, partnering with product support teams to identify solutions, and contributing to ongoing product enhancements. You may also assist other Caterpillar groups with data analysis for new product development and improvement initiatives. What you will do: Lead and enhance Caterpillar’s global talent development program for autonomous haulage. Design and deliver training materials, including simulation setups that replicate real-world mining scenarios. Coach and mentor cohort participants to ensure operational excellence. Maintain and update operational playbooks to reflect best practices and drive world-class performance. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to continuously improve program content and requirements. Develop and track requirements for tools that measure, analyze, and optimize performance. What skills you will have: Technical Excellence: Experience in mining operations and MineStar Command for Hauling technology - Onboard and Application. Passion for training, mentoring, and developing talent. Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with experience in performance improvement methodologies. Be versatile to work with diverse themes (coding, analysis, validation, technical writing, coaching/training, project management, among others). Effective Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills. Have a strong change management and continuous improvement mindset. Ability to work in a global, collaborative environment. Top candidates will also have: Degree in Mining Engineering, Data Science/Analytics, IT. Experience with delivering formal/informal training. Experience with technical writing. Knowledge of Spanish or Portuguese. Additional Information: The primary location for this position is Edmonton, AB. This position may require 25% travel. Summary Pay Range: $106,000 - $132,000 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
