The Opportunity
We are seeking a Child Development Assistant to provide support for young children in daycare and preschool environments. In this role, you will work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to implement individualized intervention strategies, ensuring each child is supported to fully participate in their daily routines and activities.
This position is ideal for someone who is compassionate, patient, and passionate about early learning and intervention.
About Us
Fueling Brains Education Services is a private Early Childhood Services (ECS) operator accredited by Alberta Education and a member of the Association of Independent Schools and Colleges in Alberta (AISCA). We specialize in early childhood intervention programs for children accessing Program Unit Funding (PUF) and Mild/Moderate (MM) funding at Fueling Brains Academy centres across Calgary and Strathmore.

Key Responsibilities
Work with assigned children to implement personalized intervention and learning plans.
Support children in daily routines (meals, hygiene, naps) and therapeutic/educational activities.
Facilitate age-appropriate play and learning experiences that promote development across all domains.
Adapt activities and materials to suit individual needs and developmental stages.
Monitor and record progress, communicating observations to the teaching and therapy team.
Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
Collaborate with educators, therapists, and parents to ensure consistency in strategies.
Participate in staff meetings and professional development sessions.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum 1 year of experience in childcare, early learning, or a related role.
Education in early childhood development, special education, or a related field (or working toward).
Experience supporting children with diverse developmental needs is an asset.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with children and families.
Valid First Aid & CPR certification (preferred).
Current Police Check (within 6 months) and Child Intervention Record Check required.
Valid Alberta driver’s license and reliable vehicle (mileage reimbursed).
Position Details
Start Date: As soon as possible
End Date: June 30th, 2026
Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday
Salary: $17 - 21/hour
Work Environment
Requires lifting/carrying up to 40 lbs and participating in floor-based play.
May include exposure to noise, childhood illnesses, and occasional behavioral challenges.
Must maintain emotional regulation in a fast-paced environment.
