Job Title: Intermediate AccountantJob Description
We are seeking an Intermediate Accountant to join our dynamic team. This role involves preparing monthly journals with relevant supporting working papers, performing SG&A and P&L variance analysis for multiple entities, running various reports from the accounting system to support the team, and preparing balance sheet account reconciliations. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills in a supportive environment while contributing to the team's success.
Responsibilities
Prepare monthly journals with relevant supporting working papers.
Perform monthly SG&A and P&L variance analysis for multiple entities.
Run various reports from the accounting system to support the team.
Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations.
Complete other tasks as required.
Essential Skills
3+ years of full cycle accounting experience in a public company.
Experience with reviewing balance sheet reconciliations.
Knowledge of US GAAP or IFRS, or strong ASPE.
Intermediate Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups, and data analytics.
CPA designation or working towards CPA.
Experience with Oracle systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in Big 4 or mid-size public practice firms.
Experience with larger complex companies and multiple entities.
Educational background from institutions like SFU, BCIT, UBC.
Strong analytical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High level of organization and attention to detail.
Sociable, likeable, and mature attitude.
Comfortable communicating with multiple departments.
Punctuality.
Work Environment
You will be part of the Operational Accounting Team, which includes 2 Senior Financial Analysts and 6 Junior Financial Analysts. The position is a hybrid role, with office presence required from Tuesday to Thursday. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, starting at 8 am, for a 40-hour work week. Business casual dress code is required.
