We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Supervisor, Business Performance and Analytics to join our Section Extended Leadership Team. What will you do?
Team Leadership & Supervision: Supervise a diverse work group of analysts and technologists, exercising independent decision-making over people, finances, and operations, and overseeing recruitment
Culture & Mentorship: Lead, establish, and exemplify the desired work group culture, providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship, and managing all aspects of staff performance and development
Strategic Development: Actively participate in developing strategies for the Mobility Infrastructure Services section in alignment with corporate and departmental strategies (e.g. act as a subject matter expert and represent the section in their transition to SAP S/4Hana)
Performance Measurement: Lead the development and implementation of performance measurement frameworks, dashboards, reports, and KPIs to rigorously assess service effectiveness and efficiency of Mobility Infrastructure Services activities
In-Depth Analysis: Track and monitor KPIs, conduct in-depth analysis of performance data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement, and lead root cause analysis
Data-Driven Decision Making: Support strategic initiatives by providing data-driven insights, conducting scenario analysis, and predictive modeling to inform decision-making
Data Management & Integrity: Oversee the collection, integration, and analysis of data from multiple systems (e.g., SAP, Peoplesoft, SDMS, COBS), ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and security through regular auditing and establishment of of SOPs
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities and lead cross-functional teams to develop and implement process improvement and optimization initiatives. This includes developing and delivering technical information sessions to non-technical and leadership audiences.
Financial Stewardship: Conduct variance reporting and analysis (labour, materials, and equipment) and support with financial corrections, accruals, and adjustments
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Drive collaboration with cross-functional teams (e.g., operational managers, data engineers) and external partners to resolve issues and integrate best practices
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Management, Commerce, Science, Planning, Engineering, or a related discipline
Minimum 7 years progressively responsible technical experience in performance measurement, analytics, data management and monitoring, and visualization (including the development of performance management frameworks, dashboards, reports and KPIs)
Minimum 5 years progressively responsible experience in a leadership role within a large, complex, unionized organization
Assets:
Master’s Degree considered an asset
PMP (Project Management Professional) or Change Management certification,
Coursework/training in business performance, project management, financial management, public administration, change management, or leadership
Strong knowledge of data visualization tools including Tableau or Data Studio
Experience with SAP (preferably Plant Maintenance) and a good understanding of maintenance activities
Experience working with financial auditing and controls

Demonstrated skills in leading, building, and managing high-performing teams, including delegation, coaching, performance development, and conflict resolution
Demonstrated attention to detail and proven planning and organizational skills to manage business plans and perform reporting, while meeting deadlines and working under pressure
Highly analytical, data-storytelling, and problem-solving skills, and ability to transform complex data into meaningful reports utilizing data visualization tools like Tableau and Data Studio
Proficient communication and interpersonal skills (including writing and presentation/public speaking) to interact with diverse partners, present insights and recommendations, and drive continuous improvement initiatives through collaborative efforts
Proficiency in project management principles with exceptional planning, organizational, and supervisory abilities to effectively assign, monitor, and evaluate work/project plans, ensuring timeliness and quality

Conditions of employment & work environment:
Up to: 1 permanent full-time position
Hours of work: 36.9 hours per week, Monday - Friday
Salary: $105,668.31 - $132,083.940 (Annually)
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with the flexibility to work from both home and the worksite
This position is eligible for the EDO program (Earned Day Off)
Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's license (or provincial equivalent)
Applicants will be required to arrange their own transportation and where appropriate will be reimbursed in accordance with City of Edmonton policy. This may require the applicant to obtain business use auto insurance
