Sentinel Dock & Door Solutions is a leading Canadian provider of commercial dock and door services. Established in 2024 by Trivest Partners, Sentinel was formed through the acquisition of top regional service providers: Lenworth Building Services, Pro Door & Dock Systems, Mar-Lin Dock & Door, Door Doctor, and Secord Doors. Together, we specialize in the installation, repair, and maintenance of overhead doors, dock levelers, and related equipment for commercial and industrial facilities.
Door Doctor, located in Lachine, Quebec, is recruiting for a Construction Estimator who will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial and industrial dock and door installations. You’ll analyze drawings, review specifications, and secure vendor quotations while working closely with sales coordinators, technical teams, and managers.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and respond to RFPs and RFQs, including bid forms, bonding, and insurance requirements.
Lead medium-to-large estimates or components of major projects, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
Develop detailed budgets, estimates, and proposals for clients, engineers, and architects.
Source and negotiate supplier and subcontractor quotes, including freight costs.
Present final cost estimates and tender submissions for approval.
Resolve field concerns related to budgets and materials, ensuring proper documentation and direction.
Coordinate approved quotations and manage construction order processing.
Act as liaison between departments to ensure efficient order flow and timely turnaround.
Maintain client data and project details in internal systems.
Provide backup support for the Construction Manager and assist Sales Account Managers and Technical Teams as needed.
What We’re Looking For
Fully bilingual (French required).
3+ years of experience as an estimator in construction or dock & door industry (preferred).
Strong knowledge of dock doors, loading dock equipment, sectional and rolling steel doors, high-speed doors, and related systems.
Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and blueprints.
Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team environment.
High school diploma required; post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
