Senior Quality Specialist – Onsite Position The Senior Quality Specialist based on-site at our Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions Ottawa, Canada site, will be responsible for Quality Engineering duties that support the multi-site Quality Management System at our business unit. The incumbent will drive continual improvement of the AS9100 certified Quality System to minimize cost of quality while maximizing customer satisfaction through delivery of on-time, high quality, highly reliable products. Your Challenge: Representing the CWDS QA department for Defense Solutions Representing Quality in business Projects as required including Improvement Projects and Corrective Actions Supporting AS9100/ ISO9001 certification via internal audits and Quality System maintenance Providing QA/SQA support on product development projects out of Defense Solutions business units Performing supplier quality functions including performing quality audits and administering the SCAR process Providing customer single point contact for quality CWDS programs Supporting ESD, MSD, 5S & ROHS Management programs as required Supports the FRB/MRB process in an efficient and effective manner to keep material flowing Leverages a strong foundation in Lean & Six Sigma methodology to support continual process improvement and product yield investigations in support of improving customer satisfaction Facilitates the corrective action process through the organization, including implementation/improvement to tools, training, and metrics Providing QA support on the implementation of Configuration Management Activities Ability to review and interpret customer contracts and flowdowns for quality requirements and take appropriate action Ability to create and review First Article Inspection Reports to AS9102 requirements Develop and maintain monthly & quarterly quality metrics participates in various meetings Supports quality in the product life cycle (Proposal, Design, Production, Services and Sustainment Ad-Hoc Travel will be required to visit customers, carry out audits and meet periodically to discuss quality plans face-to-face at other C5ISR sites within the division What You Bring: Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace/Electrical/Mechanical/Software Engineering or technical equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of prior related experience or Graduate degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience In lieu of a degree, candidates may be considered with a minimum of 5 years of prior related experience within the aerospace and defense industry or military experience commensurate with the position responsibilities, skills, and experience required Experience with PWB and PCBA designs considered an asset Experience with the implementation and maintenance of a registered AS9100 QMS applied to both manufacturing and product development Approachable hands-on style with the ability to engage with people at all levels of management Experience dealing with remote teams in multi-site environments Excellent English skills, including written and verbal; the ability to compose written reports and other communications is required Superior analytical skills, capable of using current computer analysis and programming language and tools i.e. Microsoft Office, Power BI, SQL, Python are considered assets Knowledge of Net-Inspect and DISCUS software Knowledge of the interpretation and application of the following standards: AS9100, AS9102, AS5553, J-STD-001, IPC- A-600, IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-7711/7721 8D or other structured problem-solving methodology expertise ASQ CMQ/OE and/or ASQ CQE will be considered significant assets Experience interfacing directly with customers on quality concerns Knowledge of the ESD and MSD Control Requirements Experience with SAP S4 Hana and MES applications is an asset AS9006 and/or CMMI experience are considered assets High degree in Product Integrity and Ethical standards Proficient in the interpretation of complex engineering drawings, schematics and process plans Who We Are: Our Values Environmental, Social and Governance Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions is Engineered to Succeed.
