Reporting to the Service Manager, The Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining residential HVAC systems while delivering high-quality workmanship and exceptional customer service. This role ensures safe, code-compliant work, clear communication with homeowners, and accurate documentation. Technicians also identify value-added solutions that enhance system performance and support overall company growth.

Responsibilities:
This position will include, but not be limited to the following:
Technical Expertise and Service Execution:
Diagnose, repair, and maintain residential HVAC equipment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Perform system troubleshooting and part replacements in accordance with manufacturer standards and company procedures.
Use appropriate tools and technology to deliver efficient, high-quality service on every call.
Verify proper system operation before leaving the job site and ensure all work meets quality expectations.
Continuously develop technical skills through ongoing training and certifications to stay current with evolving HVAC technologies.
Customer Communication and Satisfaction:
Clearly communicate findings, recommendations, and repair options to customers in a professional and transparent manner.
Build trust by educating customers about their system performance, maintenance needs, and available solutions.
Deliver an exceptional customer experience that aligns with the company’s core values and reputation for service excellence.
Address customer questions and concerns promptly and respectfully, ensuring satisfaction before completing each call.
Represent the company positively by maintaining a professional appearance, attitude, and level of service.
Safety and Compliance:
Follow all company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and provincial/OHS regulations at all times.
Ensure all work complies with code and manufacturer specifications.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment on every job site, including proper handling of tools and materials.
Conduct scheduled vehicle and equipment inspections and report any safety concerns immediately.
Participate in safety meetings and ongoing training to reinforce safe work practices and continuous improvement.
Revenue Generation and Sales:
Identify and communicate opportunities for system upgrades, membership plans, or additional services that improve comfort and efficiency.
Present recommendations honestly and ethically to drive customer value and company revenue.
Contribute to department sales goals by achieving individual performance targets for add-on sales and memberships.
Promote ongoing membership agreements and educate customers on long-term benefits and cost savings.
Maintain awareness of company promotions, pricing, and financing options to support customer decision-making.
Documentation, Reporting, and Knowledge Sharing:
Accurately record all service activities, parts used, and customer communications in Service Titan.
Ensure invoices and forms are completed promptly and with detailed accuracy.
Provide feedback to the Service Manager on recurring issues, customer trends, or training needs.
Share field insights and best practices with peers and apprentices to support a learning culture.
Maintain organized vehicle inventory and participate in equipment audits as required.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3-year driver’s license with clean abstract
2+ years of HVAC experience
Problem solving skills
