Apex Geomatics is expanding our CAD Department and is seeking an experienced CAD Technician with strong civil design/drafting and construction survey support capabilities to join our team immediately!
This role offers the chance to contribute to a landmark project in our region. The position is site-based in the industrial heartland, operating on a 5/2 schedule with provided transportation.

Key Skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (surfaces, alignments, grading).
Strong experience with Trimble Business Center for survey data processing.
Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams.
Solid understanding of data shortcuts, Xrefs, and CAD data management.
Ability to interpret survey data, point clouds, and construction drawings.
Strong QA/QC skills for both design and field data.
Excellent organization and file management practices.
Strong problem-solving and coordination skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Clear communication skills with field teams.
Responsibilities
Produce construction and survey drawings using Civil 3D.
Prepare design layouts, surfaces, and grading models.
Create stakeout, control, and field-ready survey files (TBC/Civil 3D).
Verify and QC incoming survey data and ensure it matches design intent.
Prepare as-builts, turnover drawings, and client deliverables.
Track quantities, analyze volumes, and generate weekly reports.
Maintain drawing standards, data shortcuts, and organized project folders.
Coordinate with survey crews, engineers, and other disciplines.
Support field teams by troubleshooting design vs. field discrepancies.
Manage revisions, drawing updates, and version control.
