Job Description Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the Maintenance Supervisor is to provide front-line leadership to the Maintenance department and be responsible for the safe maintenance, repair or replacement of plant equipment and systems, to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company. The Maintenance Supervisor will ensure that all maintenance activities are executed to improve safety, reliability and with quality. Benefits Health Insurance (includes Virtual Health, and HCSA), Dental Insurance, Vision Insurance Life Insurance, Long-term Disability, Short-term Disability RRSP Match Paid Vacation Floating Days Employee Assistance Program Employee Engagement Events Awards and Recognition Tuition reimbursement Service Awards Employee Perks & Discounts Job Responsibilities Maintain a high level of awareness on safety, environmental and process compliance by understanding and representing all regulations, policies, procedures and work instruction Participate in job site safety discussions to help resist complacency, promote awareness, identify hazards and control methods, and help share with workforce Understand and reinforce the value of our behavioural based safety program (STOP), and use the other tools such as Risk Assessments, FLRA and Safety Shares to address safety concerns Provide leadership, mentoring, and administration within the maintenance department, consisting of millwrights and electricians, including an established apprenticeship program Utilize the tools in your own style to methodically influence the performance of all your team members ensuring fairness, consistency, and support and recognizing and inspiring others to be effective and efficient in their activities Increase employee engagement and improve the labour relations climate through communication and participation in continuous improvement, including supporting 5S activities throughout the operation Evaluating individual employee and department-wide skill levels and training requirements towards maintaining and improving quality of work and safe working habits, and conduct employee performance reviews Drive accountability for both results and actions of direct reports through education, motivation, documentation, and behavior-based coaching Lead by example, help support and drive the CI culture. Advertise/share CI initiatives within and outside of maintenance team and granule site(s) Ensure that improvements are implemented with sustainability in mind, and proving to the team the value of initiatives by consistently enforcing and maintaining new standards Work in conjunction with the rest of the maintenance leadership team, plan, assign, direct and inspect the work of personnel involved in maintaining and repairing equipment, structures, utility systems and buildings Assist in the control of maintenance and operation costs through managing spare parts and supply inventories, leveraging vendor selection for improved pricing, and looking for opportunities to offset costs of unplanned variances to the budget Qualifications A college diploma or university degree in an industrial mechanic or millwright related field or a university degree in a mechanical engineering related discipline is preferred. Minimum of five years maintenance experience in an industrial plant setting Trade Certification: A valid Industrial Mechanic / Millwright trade certificate for the province of Ontario is preferred. 3 or more years of industrial maintenance leadership experience is required. Specific experience in a mining and mineral processing environment including crushing/screening and conveying of rock, rotary dryers, and heavy mobile equipment is an asset.
