We are seeking qualified individuals for the Expression of Interest - Electrical & Instrumentation Technicians. Please note that this is not a fly-in, fly-out position and will be based in Labrador West, NL.
Job Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine the layout of industrial electrical & instrumentation equipment installations.
- Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fibre-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures, and other electrical & instrumentation components.
- Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
- Test, calibrate, install, repair, and inspect equipment and monitoring devices. You will also perform general maintenance on the equipment and design new measuring and recording equipment.
- Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators, and reactors.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, repair, test, and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries, and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems as well as programmable logic control (PLC) systems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records.
- Perform Lock-out/Tag-Out on various types of equipment.
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience in maintaining, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial electrical equipment and associated electrical and electronic control systems
- Experience working in an industrial plant or mine setting is desirable
- Comfortable with a fast-paced environment.
- Self-starter with an ability to work with limited supervision.
- Excellent work ethic and attendance record.
Education:
- Journeyperson Electrician (Industrial Preferred)
- Electrical Engineering Technology Designation (3-Year)
- Journeyperson Instrumentation & Control Technician
