The Nurse B / NRP Educator is a registered nurse who provides leadership in clinical education and training — particularly related to neonatal care and resuscitation — and ensures that staff maintain competence in line with current standards. The role supports onboarding, continuing education, and competency maintenance for nursing and clinical staff.

Job Description: Duties include but not limited to: Synagis clinic coordinator, CPR instructor for parents, NRP coordinator for Regina, Home Monitor program coordinator, Car seat safety educator/technician, Parent education coordinator (CEAC documents, etc.), PPE/N95 Fit trainer for NICU. Other duties as required.

Education
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
Licenses
Basic Life Support Instructor Certificate (BLS)
Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
Experience
Requires a minimum of five (5) years nurse experience related to the clinical program area
Qualification beyond basic RN — e.g. advanced training, educator certification, or past experience in clinical education.
Capability to conduct multidisciplinary training (nursing, allied health, support staff).
Current certification in NRP; in some settings, preference or requirement for NRP Instructor certification.
Experience in neonatal or pediatric specialties, perinatal care, or NICU settings.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Relevant clinical experience — often including neonatal care or experience in a NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) / perinatal/neonatal nursing.
The role may require coordination of training sessions, simulations, and skills labs — including scheduling across shifts to accommodate staff.
Expectation to act as a mentor, resource, and role model for staff; maintain professional standards and confidentiality.
Ongoing responsibility to review and update training materials, keep abreast with latest neonatal care and resuscitation guidelines, and prepare documentation.
Demonstrated ability in adult education, teaching, facilitation of learning, and clinical instruction.
Experience in program development, evaluation and curriculum design
Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and mentoring skills.
Ability to integrate clinical knowledge with education and translate evidence-based practice into training.
Critical thinking, problem-solving, and ability to lead change and professional development.
