About the role:
The Grocery Coordinator/Direct Support Worker is responsible to the Quality Assurance/Education Team Lead on shift for guidance and direction, and reports to the Program Managers. The Grocery Coordinator provides groceries to the programs that promotes person centered, independent nutrition. The Direct Support Worker is responsible to the Primary Direct Support on shift for guidance and direction, and reports to the Program Manager. The Direct Support Worker provides support and assistance to individuals that promotes their independence and is person centered.
Qualifications and Responsibility:
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Some heavy lifting required (up to 50lbs)
CPR, Emergency First Aid
Keep accurate inventory count
Places orders based on current needs/inventory
Accepting truck deliveries and putting items away
Separating items to prepare orders for pick-up
Coordinating pick-up times
Post-secondary degree/diploma in the social services field, such as a DSW/PSW or enrolled in a related college or university program is preferred.
OR
Related experience working with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
CPR, Emergency First Aid, NVCI
Aldaview employees will be responsible for driving residents' appointments, activities etc. therefore a G license required
Experience supporting individuals with Dual Diagnosis, Mental Health & Addictions would be an asset
