Job Description: The Staff Recreation Therapist works as a member of the collaborative health care team and provides services with specific clients and/or client groups. The Therapist focuses on enhancing life-long leisure skills/attitudes, eliminating barriers to leisure and optimizing leisure participation for clients with chronic illness or disabling conditions. The Therapist utilizes assessment, intervention planning, evaluation and documentation of services. Services are provided to groups/individuals in inpatient, outpatient or community settings, relating to the client's leisure needs, interests and abilities and treatment plan. The incumbent oversees the delivery of the Recreation Therapy service for a program/team and supervise Recreation Coordinators and Therapy Assistants. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement"
