The Centre for Student Engagement at the University of Toronto Mississauga is committed to creating inclusive learning environments to cultivate holistic student learning and development. The Orientation & Awards Administrator, reporting to the Assistant Director, Access & Transition, will support the function and execution of UTM Orientation and student leadership awards. This includes but is not limited the coordination of resources for orientation, development of the orientation volunteer program (including recruitment and training ), developing the orientation marketing strategy, providing guidance to student groups throughout the recognition process, and the coordination of various student leadership awards. This position will work collaboratively with all members of the CSE team as well as the broader UTM community.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Determining logistical details and activities for events and/or programming
- Implementing plans and process improvements for program and service activities
- Analyzing and recommending enhancements to student success programs
- Advising student groups on the application of relevant policies and procedures
- Advising students on the interpretation of rules and regulations regarding the use of space and organizing events on campus
- Maintaining information on digital platforms
- Developing content for marketing and/or promotional materials
- Directing the activities of casual staff
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum two years of experience executing new student transition programming in a post-secondary environment
- Extensive experience administering orientation programming for a diverse population
- Experience with supervision of student staff
- Demonstrated ability to advise recognized student groups
- Extensive experience coordinating logistics for events including space, catering, IT, and external vendors
- Experience creating marketing strategies and content
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multiple campus partners
- Experience tracking and managing a budget
- Experience executing work of a committee with a variety of stakeholders
