Our team plays a strategic role in financial crime prevention (FCP) by developing and optimizing advanced analytics models to detect suspicious activities. We work at the heart of the FCP ecosystem, in close collaboration with the 2nd line of defense, operations and IT teams. Through our work, we directly support the institution in meeting its regulatory obligations and help improve the effectiveness of monitoring systems like Actimize and various in-house tools. As a financial crime analytics data scientist, you’ll help develop, calibrate and update our financial crime detection models using transactional, sociodemographic and internal data. You’ll play a key role in the continuous improvement of our analytics tools and the transformation of model performance. More specifically, you will be required to : Help define and develop the FCP practice’s analytical strategies by providing an innovative, performance-oriented vision. Design, apply and update advanced analytical models to fight financial crime and produce rigorous documentation. Serve as a subject-matter expert to support various units and stakeholders across the organization. Participate in large-scale projects by contributing analytical expertise to cross-sector initiatives aimed at strengthening our ability to detect financial crime. Monitor the industry to understand and anticipate trends in your area of expertise. Work with the compliance (2nd line of defense), operations and IT teams to ensure performance and consistency of deliverables. Document and communicate analytical work in a rigorous and clear manner that’s tailored to non-technical stakeholders.
