As our new Principal Resource Geologist, you will join one of the largest, dynamic and experienced teams of resource geologists globally. You will bring demonstrated skills and experience with mineral resource/geological modelling (experience with Leapfrog is a must), exploration and project reviews. In addition to strong technical skills, you’ll also have a solid background in report writing, in the development of technical scopes of work, proposal preparation, and the successful delivery of projects, meeting high standards for quality and client satisfaction. Responsibilities • Development of geological models or interpretations • Construction of block models for mineral resource and mineral reserve estimates • Participation in the preparation of NI 43-101 Reports or international equivalents • Perform due diligence reviews to support project financing, and mergers and acquisitions. • Project management, including leadership of other geologists and third-party consulting groups • Working with multidisciplinary teams to integrate geological findings and interpretations with those of other scientific, planning, and engineering disciplines • Ensuring successful project delivery with respect to health & safety, scope, schedule, budget, QA/QC, and client satisfaction • Prepare proposals and contribute to the development and execution of service line, business sector, and client business development plans • Liaise and build relationships with clients and ensure excellent service delivery • Mentor junior geologists and participate in internal and external training/mentorship opportunities Working @ SLR With us, there is no doubt you’ll grow your subject-matter expertise and industry knowledge. Final agreed-upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location. • Full-time, permanent role with flexible scheduling available (core hours are Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm) • Opportunities for professional growth and advancement Qualifications • Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar geological role in the mining or environmental services industry • Significant knowledge of Seequent’s Leapfrog Geo and Edge modelling software • Knowledge of an additional mining software package such as Datamine/Vulcan/Surpac/Micromine is considered favourable • Experience with 3D geological modelling, data analysis, and drill planning • Knowledge of geostatistical mineral resource estimation fundamentals • Undergraduate degree in the geosciences.
