As the Shipper/Receiver based out of our Regional Office in Winnipeg, MB, you will receive, store, organize, retrieve, assemble and distribute critical repair materials and other inventory to our sites across Central and Western Canada. Working in a warehouse environment, the Shipper/Receiver uses an inventory management system to keep accurate records and ensures material is distributed and shipped in a safe and timely manner to meet delivery and project deadlines. As the ideal candidate, you will have strong organizational skills with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Your contribution to the team includes:
Pack goods to be shipped and attach packing slips (identifying information/shipping instructions)
Direct delivery trucks to shipping doors, or designated areas, and help load/unload goods safely
Inspect and count received goods, check against invoices or other documents, record shortages and reject damaged goods and receives items in the ERP inventory system
Return damaged items and route them correctly
Unpack and store goods in the appropriate storage areas
Keep accurate records of items and trace lost shipments as needed
Prepare, complete, sign, document, collect, match and forward bills of lading, pro bills, packing slips, receiving tallies, picking tickets etc. for processing
Keep warehouse organized and clean
Follows all safety policies including wearing appropriate safety attire at all time
Enforces the inventory control program and performs inventory counts monthly
Performs other duties as required such as assisting with flooring, landscaping, snow removal, and month end support
What you need to be successful:
Previous experience as a shipper/receiver or warehouse order picking
Prior experience working with an inventory management system is an asset
Valid driver’s license (a current driver’s abstract may be required)
Ability to read and interpret packing slips and bills of lading
Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills
Strong communication skills, both written and oral
Product knowledge
Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 80 lbs)
Proficient computer literacy, including working skills of Excel and email
Must be a team player as well as the ability to work independently
Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships
