Assistant Summer Camp Co-ordinator – Inclusion

Position description
The Town is seeking an Assistant Summer Camp Co-ordinator – Inclusion to assist the Summer Camp Co-ordinator in planning the Town’s 2026 summer camps.
Job duties
Overseeing integrated program planning to ensure that daily activities are adapted to individual participant needs; supporting camp staff in providing behaviour management strategies to support participants with exceptionalities; and working with parents/caregivers to identify individual child support needs and assisting with intake assessments.
Assisting the Summer Camp Co-ordinator, Recreation Programmer and Supervisor, Recreation & Events in keeping and maintaining confidential records.
Fostering positive relationships with parents/caregivers regularly to provide program support and accommodation plans as needed; and creating behaviour management plans for campers as required.
Assisting in training camp staff and volunteers to support integration of participants with exceptionalities into the camp program.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Full-time enrollment in a post-secondary education program related to recreation or education
Previous experience working with children, including a minimum of two (2) years of work experience in a camp or recreation setting. Previous experience working with and supporting children with exceptionalities is an asset.
Standard First Aid/CPR certificate
Experience using Microsoft Office
Experience with XPlor Recreation (formerly PerfectMind) recreation program software would be an asset.
HIGH FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child Development
Valid Driver’s Licence in good standing
The successful candidates will be expected to work some weekends depending on program and training needs. Mandatory camp training days are scheduled in June, and successful candidates must be available to work on Canada Day. Hours of work will be thirty-five (35) hours per week prior to the start of camp, and then ranging from forty (40) to forty-four (44) hours per week during camps, depending on business needs.
Hourly Rate: $24.59 to $26.60 (2025 rate)

To be eligible for this job, students must be enrolled in full-time post-secondary education. Preference is given to those returning to full-time post-secondary studies in the fall. Students may be asked to provide proof of enrolment.
