The Specialized Services Onsite Leader will lead a team of highly trained individuals who handle the company’s most dynamic projects. The leader will be responsible for planning, executing, and closing major projects, training technicians, and fostering professional business relationships while consistently looking for ways to expand services provided. This individual will be highly motivated, coachable and willing to obtain further training while always displaying a positive attitude. Key Responsibilities: Accountable for upholding the GFL safety and service standards within the division Coordinate service on site and oversee work performed for safety and quality excellence including understanding scopes of work and leading without deviation. Coach, mentor and train technicians and other personnel from various divisions Setup, execute and close major projects within Specialized Services while working to exceed customer expectations. Inclusive of tank cleanings, confined space entries, decontamination, specialty waste packaging, chemical handling, transferring, and neutralization. Assist with incident investigations including corrective action development Promote and lead GFL’s safety programs by conducting safety meetings, safe work plans and job hazard assessments Engage in site visits with clients and collect appropriate information to ensure project success Lead company initiatives while always displaying a positive attitude Track daily project hours, consumables, waste disposal volumes, etc. and report accurately to Project Manager Lead major industrial plant shutdowns including planning work, leading operations, and compiling required documentation for project closure Service the railway industry including leadership of railcar cleanings, transloads, and more. Active member of the emergency response team Overlap with environmental remediation services including working with excavation equipment • Professionally represent GFL Other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies: Meticulous, organized and motivated Excellent communication skills Team player with a positive attitude Able to take direction and follow through on instructions Excellent interpersonal skills Ability to multi-task and prioritize within a fast paced environment Knowledge of industrial equipment and the ability to operate industrial equipment Excellent at analyzing and problem solving Dedicated to coaching and mentoring personnel Physically fit and able to work long hours from time to time, occasionally out of province Vacuum Truck and/or Power Washing Experience Knowledge of WHMIS controlled product and TDG Training The following training will be required and invested in the Onsite Leader Confined Space Entry and Rescue CPR, First Aid, AED Fall Arrest H2S Ground Disturbance – Supervisory Level Forklift Aerial Work Platform Skidsteer Loader SABA and SCBA including Fit Testing Advanced Air Monitoring Leadership for safety excellence Tankcar Specialist Required Hazardous Materials Training Advanced Emergency Response Training which may include: Anhydrous Ammonia, Chlorine, Liquefied Petroleum Gas, Flammable Liquids, etc We thank you for your interest.
