We are currently looking for a dedicated Heavy Duty Mechanic who will be responsible for the service tasks on product line ranging from construction tools, small engine equipment such as compaction equipment, pumps to compact construction equipment (e.g. Mini excavators and skid steers,) and Aerial Work Platform equipment, based out of our TCRS Fort McMurray Branch. This position will work a 7x7 continuous shift rotation. Job Description: Troubleshoot and repair Caterpillar rental equipment, which includes small engine equipment, construction tools, compact construction equipment, and aerial work platform equipment Perform a wide variety of equipment repair diagnostics Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET as required Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes) Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team Work with the Service Supervisor and Leadhand on various tasks as required Qualifications: Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail Completion of Finning S-Levels, Failure Analysis, Machine Electronic Controls, or Tier 4 training would be considered an asset Completion of Caterpillar product courses would be considered an asset Previous repair and troubleshooting experience with construction tools, small engine equipment, aerial work platform equipment and diesel generator 8KW to 200KW would be considered an asset Notes: This position is located out of our TCRS Fort McMurray branch on a continuous shift, 7x7 shift rotation A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement At Finning, we prioritize creating a diverse and inclusive environment.
