What You Will Do:
Perform General Vehicle Maintenance: change oil, oil filter, fuel filter, transmission flush, and inspection of vehicles for mechanical deficiencies.
Perform pre- and post-sale inspections, including undercarriage and structural components for existing or repaired damages. Test drive to verify condition.
Order parts as required
Provide estimates internally and externally as needed
Diagnose transmission and engine problems on-site and in the field with our team of vehicle inspectors.
Based upon certification levels, perform various diagnoses, repairs, and maintenance, which may include:
Mount and balance tires
Replace bulbs/fuse as needed to complete functionality of the associated system
Replace drive belts
Brake repairs on disc brake systems and conventional drum brakes
Coolant system repairs
A/C leak test/evacuate and recharge
Diagnosis and repair of OBD II systems
Brake components, tires, tune-ups, suspension components
Electrical systems
NS Safety Inspections
Interior/exterior components
Engine and driveline diagnosis & repairs
Advanced diagnostics
Parts replacement
Maintain the assigned work area and ensure the shop is clean and tidy at all times.
Perform all assigned work in a safe and conscientious manner.
Able to multi-task and use company-issued equipment to help answer questions for inspectors in the field.
Handle and dispose of all fluids as defined by MSDS and in accordance with all provincial and local regulations.
Create and maintain vehicle history and maintenance records as defined/directed by management.
Assure prompt repairs by interfacing and coordinating with vendors for parts and repairs.
Complete road test drives.
Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
What You Will Need:
Licensed Red Seal technician
Ability to use multiple computer/mobile apps in the field on company-issued phones.
Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Able to drive both manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
Proven ability to diagnose and repair vehicles
Ability to follow safety instructions and directions
Proficiency with hand tools and other equipment
Excellent listening, problem-solving, and communication skills
Self-motivated, independent, and reliable with a strong work ethic
Ability to stand, walk, reach, talk, and hear
Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, and climb
Ability to lift 15 pounds
Excellent vision required, including: close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
