In this role, you will design and operate the server-side services that power advanced AI functionality in a browser environment, ensuring low latency, high reliability, and enterprise-grade security. You will work on orchestrating multi-model AI execution, integrating with external systems, and enforcing identity, policy, and data privacy controls. The role requires end-to-end ownership of production services, from architecture and implementation to monitoring, incident response, and performance tuning. You will collaborate closely with product, infrastructure, security, and operations teams while participating in an on-call rotation to maintain service reliability. Accountabilities:
Design, build, and operate backend services that enable AI functionality in the browser environment
Implement secure-by-default architectures including strong isolation, least privilege, tenant-aware data boundaries, and auditable controls
Integrate services with partner systems and enterprise platforms while ensuring resilience and compliance
Develop and maintain SLOs, observability dashboards, logging, tracing, and incident response processes
Apply organizational guardrails such as usage limits, retention policies, and policy enforcement across services
Participate in on-call rotations and lead incident response as required
Continuously monitor, tune, and improve system performance, cost efficiency, and reliability
Requirements:
5+ years of experience designing, building, and operating cloud services (GCP, AWS, or Azure) with high availability and low latency
Strong backend programming skills in Go, TypeScript, Swift, or Python; comfortable owning services end-to-end
Security-first mindset: encryption, least-privilege access, strong isolation, and auditable controls
Experience with identity and policy enforcement (authN/authZ, organizational/account guardrails, quotas, retention)
Proven reliability practices: SLOs, observability, incident response, and post-mortem analysis
Experience integrating with third-party platforms and partner APIs using safe and resilient pipelines
Excellent cross-functional communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work in a startup environment with fast product validation cycles and pragmatic problem-solving
