The Job You Will Perform:
The Finished Products Operator is responsible for safely forming a pulp sheet, cutting, preparing, packaging and loading the product on either railcars or trucks to ship the product to our customers. You will operate a high-speed cutter, bale line, presses, stacker, clamp trucks, a locomotive, run lab tests, perform basic equipment care and potentially run a pulp machine.
This is a team-based position that works in a structured learning environment to meet production goals. Team members must be improvement focused, willing to work toward unit goals and find achieving results rewarding. The successful candidate will thrive in a team environment and enjoy routine expectations.
The Grande Prairie mill is an 1100+ tonne per day Northern Bleached Softwood Kraft pulp mill, employees approximately 400 mill employees in a 24-hour operation.

The shift schedule for this position is rotating 12-hour nights and days, with 14/28 days on shift. 7 days off straight each 28 days rotation.

Take process samples and accurately complete lab tests
Perform switchman duties in a rail yard.
Perform basic maintenance tasks

Qualifications
Required qualifications include:
High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Ability to perform duties with little supervision
Proactive approach to troubleshooting/problem identification
Able to perform physically demanding work
Demonstrated safety awareness
The ability to work closely with others in a team environment.
Strong learning orientation and ability to adapt to change
Preferred qualifications include:
Fire Fighting certificate -1081
EMR Certificate
Experience operating heavy equipment
Strong communication skills
Mechanical aptitude
