Under the general direction of the Director, Employer Relations, the Co-op Coordinator will participate in business development activities and support student work-integrated learning during a Professional Experience Year (PEY) work term recruitment cycle. The Employer Relations team plays a valuable role in facilitating interactions between student jobseekers and hiring managers to solidify and grow existing relationships with PEY employers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance by engaging in regular communication
- Actively seeking networking and relationship-building opportunities
- Probing for information from employers to establish activities that best meet student learning needs
- Implementing plans that support the development of work-integrated learning opportunities for students
- Advising students on work related recruitment processes and practices
- Conducting work term site visits and writing reports on site visit findings
- Reviewing performance evaluations and providing feedback to both the employer and the student
- Promoting programs at events
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum five years or recent and related experience in any combination of employment services, recruitment and hiring, preferably gained through a role in co-operative education or internship programs.
- Minimum of two years working directly with industry partners in a recruitment capacity or facilitating co-op work terms is required.
- Demonstrated ability to cultivate and expand employer relationships, including strategic stakeholder and partner engagement.
- Ability to work effectively witha wide variety of people at different levels of the University and with external stakeholders.
- Strong computer skills and working knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint; web editing software, relational databases, and the Internet research tools.
- Must have excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Highly developed sense of accountability, initiative, judgement, tact, diplomacy, detail orientation, and professionalism.
- Results-orientation and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize and meeting competing deadlines.
- Highly developed presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong client service orientation and relationship management skills.
- Ability to travel within the GTA and surrounding area.
- A passion and commitment to the University and its students, and ability to bring energy and creativity to the role.

Assets (Nonessential):
- Graduate degree or educational background in Engineering, Human Resources or Business.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are assets.

- Experience working with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools.
