Responsibilities
- Oversee regional construction teams and the FF&E team
- Manage scope definition, budgeting, design progress and construction execution for 75 to 150 new restaurants annually
- Manage renovation program of 300 to 450 restaurants annually
- Leverage cross-functional teams in the scope creation, design, estimating, budget review and approval, and scheduling for initiatives as applicable across the company.
- Manage 130MM to 250MM of annual FF&E sales volume
- Work with RBI Procurement team to develop, forecast usage, manage regional capacity and performance for FF&E and construction material vendors
- Oversight of construction budgets, cost submission and cost control system for new restaurant and renovation projects
- Oversee development of conceptual project specific budgets for new restaurant development opportunities
- Oversee definition of scope of work to be applied to new restaurant development and renovation projects
- Manage project level renovation budget approval for Tim Hortons controlled sites
- Manage development and annual update of legal documents required to execute the program
- Manage collection and compilations of program performance (program progress, costing and challenges) for presentation to Tim Hortons Senior Leadership
- Assist with preparation of relevant materials for presentation, and ultimately delivery of the material to the Restaurant Owner Advisory Board as required
Requirements
- BS / BA Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field
- 10+ years in construction management, architecture or engineering
- Minimum 3 years (5+ preferred) of program level project management or prior supervisory experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of construction processes and techniques, project planning, budgeting, bidding, construction materials/specifications, system design, building code, zoning laws, contracting, kitchen equipment and restaurant operations
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project)
- Strong negotiation and management skills
- Demonstrate thorough understanding of critical path scheduling and work sequencing
- Demonstrate thorough understanding and working knowledge of contracting, budgeting and contract/change order management
- Demonstrate ability to create detailed scope of work documents, budgets and monitor as required to manage project pipeline
- Demonstrates effective communication skills in influencing and consensus building used in working with restaurant owners
- Demonstrates effective communication skills in influencing and consensus building working with diverse groups managing differing objectives
- Registration as an architect, engineering experience or program level management at a general contracting firm preferred
- Six-Sigma or other process improvement theories are a strong plus
