The Werklund School of Education at the University of Calgary invites applications for term certain Sessional Instructor positions for the Spring 2025 term in Educational Research and Educational Psychology. Sessional instructors will teach online and on campus graduate courses that are integral parts of the graduate programs in the Werklund School of Education.
Graduate Programs in Education (GPE) has over 1000 graduate students registered in seven (7) specializations. GPE is proud of the high-quality graduate programs delivered in both online and on campus formats. EDER 655.29 Lec 04 Blackfoot Knowledge Seeking Practices
Delivery: In-person, off-campus
This graduate-level course delves into the rich and diverse world of Blackfoot/ Indigenous knowledge seeking practices, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the epistemological, ontological, and axiological foundations that underpin these approaches. The course aims to foster critical thinking and cultural sensitivity among students while equipping them with the necessary tools to engage in ethical, respectful, and collaborative practices within Blackfoot communities.
Position Requirements
Educational Research: Educational Research consists of Educational Studies in Adult Learning, Curriculum and Learning, Language and Literacy, Leadership, and the Learning Sciences. Desired qualifications include a completed doctorate in education or a related area, evidence of successful teaching and leadership experience in school, university, or workplace settings, demonstrated experience in online/distance education, and capacity to work effectively in a collaborative culture. Knowledge and understanding of the graduate programs and specializations in Educational Research will also be considered as assets for the sessional teaching positions.
