We are seeking a dynamic, creative, and results-driven Brand and Communications Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of external communications expertise, an understanding of branding principles to ensure consistency and hands-on experience with social media and web content management. You will be responsible for executing communication strategies across multiple channels, managing projects from conception to completion, and ensuring consistent brand messaging. This role requires a proactive, organized, and adaptable individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement communications strategies for external mediums that align with organizational goals.
- Create, edit, and distribute clear, engaging, and consistent messaging across multiple platforms, including newsletters, press releases, blog posts, and social media.
- Collaborate with leadership, operations, sustainability and other teams to ensure consistent brand voice and messaging.
- Work with different stakeholders to develop a social media calendar, including creating content for posts and coordinating photo/video.
- Manage social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.), ensuring content is on-brand, timely, and engaging.
- Monitor social media trends, identify opportunities for engagement, and optimize content to increase audience engagement and brand awareness.
- Analyze social media metrics and report on campaign performance to drive improvements and refine strategies.
- Oversee website re-launch project, aligning stakeholders to gather relevant content for each page.
- Oversee content updates and maintenance for the organization's website, ensuring it remains current and accurate.
- Work closely with web developers and designers to ensure website content is optimized for user experience (UX) and search engine visibility (SEO).
- Create and manage landing pages, blog posts, case studies, and other web content.
- Manage communication projects from planning to execution, ensuring deadlines are met, budgets are adhered to, and objectives are achieved.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, including designers, writers, and external vendors, to deliver high-quality work.
- Track project milestones, ensure timely delivery, and communicate progress to stakeholders.
- Serve as a key point of contact for external communications-related inquiries.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., HR, operations, product teams) to ensure cohesive and unified messaging.
- Develop compelling content for various channels, ensuring it meets the needs of diverse audiences.
- Edit and proofread materials to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency in tone and style.
- Coordinate with media specialist to capture and create multimedia content, such as images and videos, to enhance social media and web posts.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in communications, social media, web content management, and project management.
- Strong project management skills with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to analyze data and metrics to assess the effectiveness of communication strategies and campaigns.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office is required.
- Proficiency with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.) and social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Buffer).
- Solid understanding of website content management systems (CMS), such as WordPress, Drupal, or similar.
- Bilingual proficiency (English and French) would be considered an asset.
