About the role:
The Compliance Project Management Office (PMO) team in Global Compliance is responsible for supporting strategy development, business planning, performance metrics and lead the management of material compliance projects - a priority given the evolution and profile of the Compliance function.
The Project Manager, Compliance PMO, Global Compliance position is accountable for the project management of technology projects based on criteria that aligns with the vision of the Global Compliance function and roadmap. The position would support the project planning, communication updates and change management for assigned projects and overall PMO governance activities. The role will also be a key contributor, and compliance representative on cross business unit, cross-function and cross-platform project initiatives.
What will you do?
- Manage Compliance and Technology projects from initiation to closure while leveraging Project Management best practice and standards
- Experience managing vendors, contract management, project financial performance, risk identification and management
- Demonstrated ability to interpret technical requirements and facilitate clear, effective communication across multiple teams.
- Create and maintain Project Management Office tools, templates and processes and management of the overall portfolio of projects in JIRA
- Develop project deliverables and artifacts such as Project and Sprint plans, Scope document, Project Charter, Communication plan, Risk logs, Status reports etc.
- Engage with cross-functional teams, stakeholders and communicate project updates effectively to ensure buy in and project success
- Avoid scope creep and utilizes change management practices for seamless transition and value realization.
- Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels and escalate issues, as necessary
- Create and deliver PowerPoint presentations to the Senior Management and Executive teams
What do you need to succeed?
- Over 5 years of work experience, including at least 3 years managing multiple and complex projects using Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid methodologies
- Post-secondary education and professional certification(s) such as PMI-PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM or equivalent work experience
- Over 2 years of experience in the execution of regulatory compliance, technology or related initiatives in Financial Institutions. Knowledge of Regulatory Compliance Management framework components and linkages
- Proven ability to bridge the gap between IT and Compliance teams ensuring clear communication and alignment on project objectives.
- Exceptional project management capabilities with demonstrated experience managing dispersed and indirect resources
- Experience with Project Portfolio Management and PMO Governance activities such as creating and maintaining Project Management tools, templates, and reporting
- The role requires the candidate to have a presence with senior management, including strong verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of consequences of errors in judgement or decision making (which could place SL at risk or result in significant legal liability and harm to company reputation)
- Good facilitation and influencing skills to direct effective meetings for project teams
- Knowledge of Change Management practices and frameworks.
- Experience with Project management and collaboration tools -- JIRA, MS Project, Microsoft Copilot
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of AWS cloud technologies paired with advanced data analytics and scalable data management expertise.
- Certification such as Prosci or CCMP would be an asset.
- Proficiency in advanced analytics and reporting tools (like Tableau, MS Excel VBA)
- Curiosity to learn and grow in the GenAI space
