You are an experienced Utility Construction Labourer with a background in hydroseeding and a solid understanding of underground utility or civil construction and maintenance. In this role, you will be responsible for performing general day-to-day duties and operating equipment alongside other crew members to complete work safely and efficiently, under the direction of the Foreperson.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Operate hydroseeding machine to spray soil for erosion control on construction sites
- Perform regular vehicle maintenance checks and complete associated documentation
- Drive a cube van or 3-ton dump truck with trailer in tow
- Keep crew vehicles clean and organized
- Collaborate with crew members on tasks such as excavating pits, rodding and roping conduits, placing underground cables in conduits, assisting with directional boring, and removing/replacing concrete and asphalt
- Operate equipment and handle heavy materials (up to 50 lbs)
- Read underground utility locates and ensure safe digging practices are always followed
- Assist in restoring job sites to their original condition
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment for the crew, the public, the client, and Ledcor
Qualifications:
- Experience working in underground utility construction, civil construction, or landscaping is an asset
- Hydroseeding experience is considered an asset
- Capable of reading underground telecommunication plans and work maps
- Experience operating and maintaining mini excavators, skid steers, and backhoes
- Strong time management skills with the ability to manage a broad range of activities
- Technically adept with a strong ability to learn quickly, analyze information, and solve problems
- Able to write clearly and succinctly for various forms of communication
- Clean driver's abstract
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing requirements
Working Conditions:
- Travel to various sites in the surrounding Edmonton, AB area
- Working outdoors in various weather conditions
