Reporting directly to the Aquatic Senior Manager, Aquatic Manager and Supervisors, the Head Lifeguard/Swim Instructor is a key team member of Aquatics departments at both the Kelowna Family Y and H2O Adventure + Fitness Centre facilities who:
- Is responsible for the safety of others and for teaching, and instilling the Y's core values of caring, respect, responsibility and honesty in Y staff and members.
- Will maintain a safe and clean work environment and deliver aquatic programs during assigned shifts.
- As part of a large dynamic staff/volunteer aquatics team, will be responsible for supporting all attendants, lifeguards and swim instructors, while providing a welcoming environment and excellent customer service.
We'd love to hear from people with:
- YMCA Canada Swim Instructor or Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor
- National Lifeguard - Pool Option
- National Lifeguard -- Waterpark Option
- Current Standard First Aid with CPR-C
- Airway Management and Oxygen Administration (AMOA)
- Lifesaving Instructor (LSI) certification would be an asset
- Minimum 2 years of lifeguarding experience
